The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has solicited the support of the National Assembly to address some challenges facing his domain.
He made the appeal when he received the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila in Abuja.
According to the Nupe monarch, the burnt Yayako market in Bida and actualisation of a Bill for an Act to establish Federal University of Medicine and Health Sciences in the area are some of the projects close to the heart of the people.
While urging the Speaker to support the moves, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar noted that they would have a direct bearing on the electorate.
The Speaker, House of Representatives Mr Femi Gbajabiamila commended the Royal father for his role in maintaining peace in his domain and the country at large.
He added that the legislature would always support gestures aimed at improving the standard of living of the people.
