500 women and youths have received soft loan of Ten Thousand Naira each for Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES) from National Directorate of Employment (NDE) In Zamfara State,
During the disbursement in Gusau, the Director General of the NDE, Dr. Nasir Mohammed Liman Argungu said, the scheme formed part of the administration of President Muhammad Buhari’s determination to empower youths and create job opportunities.
He explained that, the gesture to the 500 youths and women was collaboration between the NDE and Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representative, Rt. Hon. Sanusi Garba Rikiji to realise the MEES project in Zamfara.
The DG who was represented by the NDE Coordinator, Gusau office, Mr. Abdullahi Yakubu explained that, the loan which is payable in 3 years is a sure path to sustainable national growth and development.
In his remark, the Chief of Staff, House of Representative, Rt. Hon. Sanusi Garba Rikiji who was represented by Alh. Abubakar Tijjani Dan-Ayya urged the beneficiaries to justify the gesture and commended the Federal Government for initiating such programs aimed at reducing poverty, unemployment and boosting the economy of the country.
Some of the beneficiaries interviewed, expressed gladness and promise to use the money to boost their businesses.
