The Yobe state Independent Electoral Commission has postponed the earlier announced local government Election to February 27th next year.
The Executive chairman of the commission, Dr Mamman Muhammed announced this while addressing stakeholders on the new development.
Dr Muhammed said the rescheduling of the election was due to the discovery of two new COVID-19 cases in the state.
He said the development became necessary to enable health officials take appropriate measures to prevent spread during political activities in the state.
Yobe state Independent Electoral Commission had earlier slated December 5th this year for the conduct of election in the seventeen local government areas of the state.
