A gas tanker exploded on Thursday in the Ifako-Ijaiye area of Lagos with many persons sustaining burn injuries.
A statement issued by Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu says two people in critical condition are being referred to General Hospital Ikeja while fourteen others have been given adequate first aid treatment.
He said responded to distress calls that a 30 ton LPG Tanker operated by Mana Gas Ltd was involved in an explosion which destroyed several vehicles, X and Y Event Center and a Plank Market in the area.
LASEMA discovered that a compromised seal device by the truck driver had led to gradual leakages which then ignited when the tyres burst.
Responders at the scene of incidence are LASEMA, Lagos Fire, Police and members of NSCDC.
The LASEMA boss said efforts are being made to put out the resulting fire from the explosion.
