Plateau teachers advocate implementation on Minimum Wage

Teachers in Plateau State have appealed to the State Government to implement the proposed Minimum Wage and provide writing materials to pupils at the grassroots.

Chairman, Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Jos East Branch, Samuel Agwom who led a delegation of EXCOs of the union on a courtesy visit to the State Assembly commended the Speaker of the Assembly Abok Ayuba for his strides as leader of the 9th assembly.

Mr. Agom however informed the Speaker of some challenges confronting the association to include late payment of salaries, insufficient writing materials for pupils and transportation.

Responding, the Speaker of the Assembly, Abok Ayuba assured the delegation of the State government’s effort to ensure the welfare of teachers and pupils in the state.
