NDLEA intercepts truck load of hard drugs

National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Zamfara State Command has intercepted a truck on Gusau-Sokoto Road, conveying 1,503,044 kilogrammes of drugs. .

Zamfara state Commander of the NDLEA, Mr. Gabriel Adamu Eigege, paraded the exhibit to Journalists in Tsafe.

He said a Mercedes Benz Truck with registration number, Anambra XY 200 FGG, was loaded with variety of drugs including, 185kg of Cannabis Sativa; 11.5kg of Hypnox, Diazwpam, 14kg; Valinex-5, 22.7Kg; Exol-5, 310kg and 59,844kg of Codeine Syrup.

Mr. Adamu said two persons were arrested and are being interrogated.

State Commissioner for Local Governed and Community Development, Alh. Yahaya Chado Gora said banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and such crimes were orchestrated by the use of hard drugs and urged the NDLEA to be up to their tasks.
