Two people have died and several other displaced as a result of the rainstorm occasioned by the heavy downpour in Ilorin the Kwara State Capital.
The State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi who was on a condolence and on the spot assessment visit to the people and places affected by rainstorm expressed deep concern over the unfortunate natural disaster.
Mr Alabi on behalf of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commiserated with the affected families.
The two persons who were said to have lost their lives to the rainstorm were Ibrahim Folarin and Sunday Ogbonna.
The Deputy Governor enjoined the victims to be calm and exercise patience with the government, saying efforts will not be spared to give necessary support.
Some of the victims who spoke with Radio Nigeria explained that they did not need monetary compensation but urgent government intervention to rebuild their affected properties.
Some of the areas visited were Ode Alfa Nda, Ile Akuji, Ile bada, Ita Ogunbo, Ita Kudimoh, Ita Egba, Idi Igba, and Sakele.
Others are Okekere, Koko Igbonna, Abata Sunkere, Oju Ekun, Orisan Koko.
