Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has ordered the immediate evacuation of persons whose houses have been submerged by the latest flood disaster in Nasarawa Local Government Area.
Governor Sule who rushed to the ancient town on getting the report of the incidence, sympathised with the leadership and people of the area, ordering immediate distribution of food items, mattresses and other relief materials without delay.
He also thanked the Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibrin and the Chairman of the Local Government Council for their prompt actions in assessing the situation.

While calling on people to desist from building on waterways and indiscriminate dumping of refuse on drainages, the governor expressed commitment of his administration to take a second look at the channelisation project, hoping the collaboration of the Federal Government in tackling the age-long ecological problems in the area.
This is the second flood in Nasarawa town in less than two weeks.
