The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Godwin Obaseki of PDP winner of Saturday’s Governorship Election in Edo.
Announcing the results, the electoral commission said Mr. Godwin Obaseki scored; 307,955 while his close opponent Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu had 223,619. Gov. Obaseki led with over 80,000 votes.
With the declaration, Governor Obaseki is to run for a 2nd term of 4 years in office.
Reacting to his victory, the Edo State governor expressed his appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for defending democracy, all Stakeholders of the Peoples democratic Party (PDP) as well as the electorates.
