Plateau state Government has spent over N366m in the fight against COVID-19.
This is in addition to over N123m donations, as well as food and medical items.
Governor Simon Lalong made this known when he met with local government chairmen and traditional rulers on the need to intensify sensitization on adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols.
Governor Lalong however lamented that non compliance to the safety protocols remained a challenge, hence the need for more sensitization.
He said schools would still reopen by the end of October, with a lot of work and commitment to ensure the safety of children.
Plateau has 3175 COVID19 infection, with 913 active cases and 10 deaths, according to the Commissioner for Health Dr. Nimking Ndam.
Chairman of the state Research Committee on COVID-19, Professor Noel Wonnang said the team has made significant progress on the treatment and prevention of the virus.
