Nasarawa state government will partner the Nigerian Union of journalists to provide affordable housing for journalists.
Governor Abdullahi Sule gave the indication while playing host to the Nigerian Union of journalists led by its National president Comrade Chris Isiguzo who paid him a courtesy call at the government house Lafia.
Appreciating the role of journalists in the nation-building, Governor Abdullahi Sule said he would continue to support them to discharge their responsibility as expected.
The state Governor explained that government will collaborate with NUJ to look at a suitable place to allocate a piece of land for the members of the pen profession with a view to developing it for them to discharge their duties diligently.
Earlier, leader of the delegation and National president Nigerian Union of journalist NUJ Comrade Chris Isiguzo said they were in the state for the North Central delegates’ conference and they deemed it necessary to visit him considering his contributions to journalists and journalism profession.
The NUJ president also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for appointing journalists to man some key positions in his administration urging him to sustain the tempo.
Comrade Isiguzo also intimates the governor of the award that the union will be presenting to him for selfless service and support rendered to journalists across the State.
