NUJ tasks government on dilapidated roads

Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Zone D comprising states in the North Central Geopolitical Zone including the Federal Capital Territory has called on state governors in the zone to pay urgent attention to the dilapidated condition of the roads.

This is contained in a Communiqué signed by Vice President NUJ Zone D, Chief Wilson Bako at the end of the union’s Three Days Quarterly Meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

The Communiqué expresses concern over the bad conditions of most roads across the North Central Zone of the country especially, Bida/Minna in Niger state and Mokwa Jebba roads in Kwara state among others stressing the need for Government to urgently put the roads back in good shape.

It also wants government at all levels to intensify efforts in combating the rising insecurity in the zone and other parts of the country, calling on security agencies to fish out the killers of late Mr Benjamin Ekom, a journalist in Nasarawa State who was brutally attacked in his resident by unknown gunmen.
