Over 100,000 hectares of rice, maize and millet farms as well as 3000 residential buildings have been submerged by ravaging flood in Pategi town, Patigi local government area of Kwara state and its environs.
Addressing Journalists on the incident a residents of the area, Mallam Ismaila Adamu said the flooding disaster was an annual occurrence in Pategi.
He said the flood also submerged schools, hospitals and electric poles.
Mallam Adamu noted that many families have lost all their means of livelihood to the disaster.
He however urged the state government to urgently relocate the affected people to safer place.
