Kogi State Government says it has directed the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, to commence distribution of palliatives to those affected by flood in the State.
Governor Yahaya Bello stated this in Lokoja while receiving the officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA in the state on an advocacy visit.
Represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, Alhaji Bello said the palliatives were to mitigate the effect of the flood on those affected
He urged all public spirited individuals and corporate bodies to support government efforts at mitigating the effect of the flood on those affected.
Director General of NEMA, Air Vice Marshall Muhammadu Muhammed retired represented by Alhaji Muhammed Usman called on the people to adhere to warnings on flood by relevant agencies.
