The Special Visitation Panel set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to look into the leadership crisis at the University of Lagos has submitted its report.
Chairman of the Panel Prof. Tukur Sa’ad while presenting the report to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu said opinions of all stakeholders involved in the crisis were gotten to arrive at the final report. He expressed optimism that the implementation of the recommendations of the report would restore peace in the University of Lagos and other tertiary institutions.
’’On behalf of the members of the panel, I wish to express our appreciation to the President and Visitor of the University of Lagos and the Minister of Education for considering us worthy of this important national assignment, we also wish to appreciate members of the University of Lagos for fully cooperating with us during the exercise.
We cannot divulge any content of the report but it will be significant to note that the Chancellor of the University, the Shehu of Borno (Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba) interacted with the panel, we are happy we have completed this work and we hope this special visitation panel would have made some contribution towards resolving the problem with the University of Lagos and towards preventing similar problems in other universities all over the country’’. Prof. Sa’ad said.
The Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu said the report will be studied and justice would be carried out to whoever is found wanting.
