Nasarawa State Government has handed over medical equipment worth over eight million Naira to the state University Clinic and the Tuberculosis Control Centre in the state.
Handing over the equipment to the benefitting organizations in Lafia, the state Commissioner for health Mr Ahmed Yahaya said the items were procured through collaborative efforts between the state government and the World Bank Save One Million Lives Project.
Mr Ahmed Yahaya noted that the state government would continue to set aside substantial resources to provide quality health care services to the people.
He commended Save One Million Lives Project for its intervention which had contributed immensely in addressing challenges faced by the health sector in the state.
Receiving the medical equipment, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University Keffi Professor Ibrahim Haruna said the items would go a long way in upgrading the university clinic.
Professor Haruna called for more supports from Government and donor agencies as according to him, the university clinic serves not only the immediate community but residents of Nasarawa, Keffi and Karu local government areas as well as Abuja visit the facility for medical attention.
