All Nigerian airports opened for domestic operations

The Federal Government says all airports in the country including private ones and airstrips are now opened for domestic commercial flights.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, made this known on Monday during a briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja.

14 local airports have resumed in July after months of closure caused by the lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.

Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja and Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos were opened for international flight operations earlier this month.

“Private charter operations will no longer need approvals but you should kindly check the status of these airports with the NCAA which is normal.”

You won’t need any approvals from the minister, he said.

Private charter flights in and out of the country will still need approvals including technical stops, the minister added.
