Police call for effective women participation in governance

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Dr. Aisha Abubakar, has called for stronger alliance and formidable force among women towards effective participation in governance as well as contributing their quotas in national development.

The most senior female police officer, Dr. Aisha Abubakar made the call during a courtesy visit by the Executives of FCT Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ) at Police Force headquarters, Abuja.

She stressed the need for more synergy and collaborations among women groups in mentoring and empowering the younger generation as well as waging war against all forms of violence against women.

FCT Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Stella Okoh-Esene reiterated the efforts of FCT NAWOJ in advancing the course of women and children and expressed optimism that the already established partnership would impact positively on the women folks in the country.

Comrade Okoh-Esene informed the AIG that NAWOJ FCT visited to seek areas of collaborations and to solicit her support regarding the upcoming National election at its triennial delegates conference holding in November 2020.
