A human rights non-governmental organisation, CLEEN FOUNDATION has called on all stakeholders in the forthcoming Edo election to respect the roles of each other to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
In a virtual meeting, the Executive Director, CLEEN FOUNDATION, Dr Benson Olugbuo stated this while presenting the findings of security threat assessment towards the Edo election.
For a peaceful election in Edo state, the federal government should ensure that the military should not be deployed to the street in the state but all other security agencies should be placed strategically in the eighteen local government areas of the state, he said.
Dr Olugbuo stressed that the state government should collaborate with all religious, professional and community leaders to mobilize their members to exercise their rights peacefully.
He also used the forum to call on INEC and political parties to ensure voter education and quick distribution of electoral materials.
