The universal Basic Education Commission UBEC in collaboration with katsina State universal Basic Education Board has trained head teachers and principals of junior secondary schools on COVID-19 preventive measures.
The executive Chairman of SUBEB in Katsina State, Alhaji lawal Buhari, said the training was in preparation for the schools reopening in the state.
The chairman explained that a total of 2,420 participants were drawn from the schools across the state among which 2,270 are primary school’s head teachers as well as 150 principals of junior secondary schools.
He said the resource persons of the training were health professionals from the state primary health care development agency.
In a remark, the UBEC state project coordinator Hajia Maryam Kankara pointed out that when schools resume the commission would construct additional classrooms to ensure social distancing.
The resource person who is the Director medical laboratory katsina state primary health care development agency Alh Ibrahim lawal, said the training was aimed at equiping the participants on how to enhance preventive mechanism on COVID-19.
