The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has deployed senior police officers to Edo State ahead of the September 19 governorship election.
A statement on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba says the officers deployed are Deputy Inspector General of Police, Adeleye Oyabade, an Assistant Inspector General of police, Hosea Hassan, and eight other commissioners of police.
According to Mbah, Oyebade is to ensure adequate monitoring of the election and due enforcement of all electoral laws in the state.
CP Garba Umar, CP Habu Sani and CP Buba Sanusi and CP Akeera Yonous would coordinate the operations of the Police Mobile Force and other special strike forces.
Mbah stated that four Commissioners of Police would supervise security arrangement in the three senatorial districts of the State.
“They are: CP Omololu Bishi and CP Abutu Yaro Edo North senatorial district, CP Philip Aliyu Ogbadu Edo Central Senatorial District and CP Olokade T. Olawale, Edo South Senatorial District,” Mbah said.
