The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs has received a donation of over 250 thousand diapers to be distributed to Primary Health Care Center in the Federal Capital Territory to promote child Health.
Presenting the Diapers in Abuja, the Senior Director for Africa, Procter and Gamble, Mrs Temitope Iluyemi said the distribution would be done in rural and fairly urban communities to serve as incentive for mothers to bring their infants to health care centres for immunization and general health checks.
Also seeking the collaboration of the ministry in the area of data collation to monitor the improvement of programmes on mother and child health care.
Receiving the Diapers, the Minister of women Affairs, Dame Puline Tallen explained that child health and immunization was imperative to the development of children which calls for the need to focus on the health needs of children from inception to infant stage to promote maternal and child health in the country.
She described the gesture as one that would cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic on the health needs of both mothers and children.
