Chief Justice of Nigeria swears in 85 Judges

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, has sworn in 85 judges ahead of Ondo and Edo states governorship elections.

The 85 judges, inaugurated in Abuja on Thursday, are to adjudicate on Election Petitions Tribunal cases in both states.

The CJN called on the judges to discharge their duties devoid of sentiments and within the ambit of the law, adding that, anything short of that would place them on the wrong side of history.

Justice Tanko advised them to rise above intimidations and blackmails by doing what would earn them integrity in the court of public opinions.

The CJN said he would not condone any act of recklessness, abuse of power and public trust from the judges.
