The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo says the Public Works initiative of the Federal Government designed to engage 774, 000 Nigerians is aimed at reducing poverty level at the rural areas.
The Minister stated this in Abuja on Radio Nigeria Good Governance and Accountability Audience Participatory Programme, tagged “Have Your Say”.
According to Keyamo, President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to his promise of impacting on Nigerians through engaging in community service.
He explained that committe has been put in [lace for the allotment and engagement of Nigerians across the Local Governments in the country.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment also noted that Government would continue to create enabling environment to develop capacity and enhance the employability of youths in all sectors of the economy.
On the issues of striking doctors and ASUU, Keyamo maintained that the Federal Government has shown commitment to the plight and demands of workers in the country noting that efforts were still ongoing to address pending demands by the Unions.
Callers on the Programme called on the Government to take urgent steps towards resolving unemployment crises in the country.
