Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom says his administration is determined to deliver 2021 budget based on inputs from the people to enhance good governance.
He gave the assurance at a Town Hall Meeting and citizens engagement for the preparation of the 2021 budget held at Precious Event Centre, Makurdi.
The Town Hall Meeting organised by the Benue State Planning Commission drew participants from NGOs, Religious and traditional leaders, market women and the business community.
Governor Ortom said that the views of the participants would be documented and integrated into the budget process to ensure that the implementation have direct impact on the people.
He explained that his government was focused on improving agriculture, health, education and rural infrastructure.
Commissioner of Finance Mr. David Olofu expressed hope that the input gathered from the participants would improve the budgeting process to enhance transparency and accountability.
The Director General, Benue State Planning Commission, Mr. Samuel Unom said meeting became necessary for the people of Benue to make input into the 2021 budget to make it more people oriented.
Some of the participants including Acting Ter Makurdi, Chief Clement Kulugh and a senior lecturer at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi Dr. Emmanuel Tembe lauded the initiative and promised to do what was expected of them.
