A new building complex of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria TRCN headquarters has been commissioned
At the event in Abuja, The Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu said the move was part of efforts towards improving the status of teachers and the teaching profession in the country.
Mallam Adamu explained that with the partial ease of the lockdown, schools have partially resumed and a lot is expected of teachers in ensuring the safety of their students.
He said the new building complex would reposition TRCN to contribute its quota in making sure things go well in schools.

The Registrar and Chief Executive of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria Professor Josiah Ajiboye said the commissioning of TRCN’s Headquarter Annex 2 building would ease accommodation problems and improve the working environment of staff to effectively deliver on their mandates.
Profession Ajiboye noted that TRCN would work assiduously to ensure the professionalization of the teaching profession is taken seriously by teachers, institutions and other stakeholders
‘’As a teaching regulatory body, we have been working assiduously to see that all goes well with the teaching profession in Nigeria. We are very much aware of these sayings, that ‘’No nation can rise above its teachers and that the treachers hold the key to the door of sound education and that sound education is the most critical instrument for change in any society’’ with thses in mind we at the TRCN are assuring the Honourable Minister of Education that Council will do all that is within its power to see that professionalization of teaching in Nigeria is taken seriously by teachers, institutions and other stakeholders’’. The Chairman of Council of TRCN Professor Adamu Baikie said the completion of the building project was as a result of the Registrars drive, to improve the quality of teaching in the country.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Sonny Echono also commissioned Two Hilux Vehicle procured by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
