A Civil Society group, Vanguards for the Protection of Rights of Citizens in Nigeria has stressed the need for the Presidency to take over the affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC in the interest of the People of the region.
At a rally in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the group, Mr Sharon Faliya expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of development in the Niger Delta, despite the allocation of funds to the NDDC.
Acting Public Relations of the group, Mr Bitrus Yakubu urged Youths in Niger Delta to hold their leaders accountable to end Corruption in NDDC.
He stressed the need for transparency and accountability in the NDDC.
The group carried placards such as ” Bring Back NDDC to the Presidency for Accountability and Monitoring, Corruption has crippled the Niger Delta, Let’s kill it.
