FG resolves MTN, Union dispute

The trade dispute between MTN Nigeria and the Private Telecom and Communication Senior Staff Association, PTECSSAN has been resolved.

This followed the withdrawal of the 14-day ultimatum by the leadership of the Private Telecom and Communication Senior Staff Association after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the management of MTN Nigeria Communication Plc in Abuja.

At a conciliatory meeting summoned by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, the two parties engaged in extensive deliberation of issues in dispute bordering on the refusal to allow certain categories of staff to join trade union, regularization of employment status of casual workers of the company and severance packages among others.

The Private Telecom and Communication Senior Staff Association, PTECSSAN had earlier issued an ultimatum on the 11th of this month to withdraw services if their demands are not addressed.
