Cybersecurity space safe – Pantami assures Nigerians

The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami has assured Nigerians of the safety of the Nation’s cybersecurity space.

Dr Pantami stated this at the launch of the National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA Digital Centre Building and new NITDA logo in Abuja.

Digital security was imperative to achieve an efficient digital economy in view of the New norm brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, he said

The minister said the centre which is fully equipped to handle emergencies and other concerns as part of the efforts of achieving the focal point of President Buhari which are hinged on security, anti-corruption and economic development.

The Director-General of NITDA, Mr Kashifu Abdullahi said NITDA was poised to enhance the digital economy sector as it would check unemployment and poverty.

The Chairman of the NITDA Board, Mallam Abubakar Saidu described the launch of the centre as laudable and commended the synergy of the various departments and agencies under the ministry.

The Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Professor Garba Danbatta, Managing Director Galaxy Backbone, Abdullahi Aliyu and M.D Nigcomsat, Mrs Abimbola Alale all pledged to support and cooperation in repositioning the digital economy sector through dedication and focus.
