Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna has donated a mobile field Kitchen to Army Super Camp 4, Faskari in Katsina state to ease food supply to troops in the field of operation.
Commandant of the Academy, Maj. Gen. Jamil Sarham who handed over the vehicle to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusauf Buratai at the super camp said, the dual purpose kitchen and bakery equipment was designed to support NDA exercises as well as the Nigerian Army operations.
He explained that, it consist of 2×120 liters capacity cooking pot, 160 liters capacity water thermal dispenser, 100 liters deep fryer and 20Kg Gas powered oven.
Other features of the Mobile Kitchen includes 7.5Kg solar powered mixer and 3kva onboard solar inverter unit among others and can cook food for 400 people in 3 hours.
The equipment was locally made and it was configured and retrofitted on a Toyoto Buffalo by the department of mechatronics of the Nigeria Defence Academy for self-reliance.
Receiving the vehicle, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai who was impressed by made in Nigeria equipment, ordered for six more mobile field Kitchen to be distributed to other army camps.
