Former National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party PDP, Senator Barnabas Gemade has returned to the All Progressives Congress APC after a stint in Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Senator Gemade moved with over 35,000 party faithful to the APC during a ceremony at his Mbawar Council Ward, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State.
He said he has decided to do so after due consideration of his political climate noting that his return to APC was home coming.
Senator Gemade expressed gratitude to leaders of the APC including President Muhammadu Buhari, the Acting National Chairman of the party, leader of APC in Benue state, Senator George Akume.
State Chairman of APC, Comrade Abba Yaro, his Vice, Kpamor Orkaa and Mr Vincent Uji who received Senator Gemade on behalf of the party described him as an asset whose return would strenghten APC and make sure that it takes over leadership in 2023.
In line with COVID-19 protocols, only fifty people were allowed to represent the other defectors at the ceremony.
