Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has condemned the killing of the traditional ruler of the Odu Community in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Amos Ewa Obere by unknown gunmen.
Governor Abdullahi Sule who was on a fact-finding visit to the palace of the paramount traditional ruler of the area, the Osu Ajiri in Udege called on community leaders to be proactive in fishing out criminal elements in their communities.
He expressed sadness over the killing and urged security agencies to redouble their efforts to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act were brought to justice.
The Governor pointed out that given the drive towards the transformation of Nasarawa state to an industrial hub, no efforts would be spared to ensure the safety of lives and property to attract investors to the state.
The Osu Ajiri, Alhaji Halilu Bala Usman commended the Governor for deploying more security personnel to the area to check the rising cases of insecurity especially between Nasarawa and Toto local government areas and the surrounding communities.
The Governor who was accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, the Senator Representing the area, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, and other top government officials also paid a condolence visit to the palace of the slain monarch in Odu.
The unknown gunmen had last Friday, around 10 pm, stormed the palace of the traditional ruler of the Odu Community in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, and shot the monarch, Mr. Amos Ewa Obere, to death.
