FG reopens 12 more airports for operation

The federal government has reopened 12 more airports for full domestic operations.

They are; Mallam Aminu International Airport Kano, Port Harcourt International Airport, Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri, Maiduguri Airport, Victor Attah Airport Uyo, Kaduna, and Yola Airports.

Others include; Margaret Ekpo International Airport Calabar, Sultan Abubakar Airport Sokoto, Birnin Kebbi Airport, Yakubu Gowon Airport Jos, and Benin Airport.

Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika who published the list on his Twitter handle said private and charter operations were inclusive and that movement in and out of the airports no longer required ministerial approval.

This brings to a total of 14 airports now operating in the country since all airports were shut down since March this year following the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja were the first to be opened for operation on the 8th of this month with new public health safety guidelines to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
