World Health Organisation, WHO has confirmed 769,000 COVID-19 cases in Africa as 435,000 persons have recovered while 16,000 deaths were recorded.
This was made known by WHO on its official twitter handle @WHOAFRO as at Friday 24, July, 2020.
The statement says the health workers face risk from COVID-19 and efforts are intensify to stop infections.
Many hide their illness, refuse to share their contacts, do not seek medical care or follow preventive measures out of fear of being stigmatized.
