The Senate ad hoc committee investigating financial mismanagement in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) on Thursday says the commission had spent N1.3 trillion in four years.
The committee made this sum known during the presentation of its report before the Senate.
In the report, the Senate Committee Chairman, Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, said N1.3 trillion was spent by NDDC between 2015 and May 31, 2019.
The investigation shows that staff of the NDDC were paid 4.9 billion Naira for several allowances.
Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi revealed that staff were also paid COVID-19 relief, overseas travel and international scholarships.
