Zamfara gets FGs COVID19 relief items

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiyya Umar Faruk has flagged off the distribution of COVID19 relief items in Zamfara state.

Sixty one thousand five hundred and thirty eight (61,538) house holds will benefit from one hundred and two point five (102.5) metric tonnes of grains, include maize, millet, sorghum and Rice, while fifty nine thousand eight hundred (59,800) bags of fertilizers are to be distributed to farmers affected by armed banditry.

At the flagging off in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, the minister said the scheme was to ameliorate sufferings inflicted by the COVID19 pandemic.

Also flagged off by the minister was the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme, a component of the social investment programme of the federal government.

At the ceremony, the state governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle thanked the federal government and promised to also continue with rogrannes that are beneficial to people in need.
