Niger to involve EFCC in missing ₦5.7bn pension fund

Niger State Government says it will get the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) involved, to recover its missing ₦5.7bn from the contributory pension scheme.

Director-General of the scheme, Alhaji Usman Tinau Muhammed who stated this while addressing newsmen in Minna on the resumption the scheme in the state said 15 person have been traced to the missing funds and the state government had resolved to retrieve such monies without delay.

Alhaji Usman Muhammed said Contributory Pension Scheme which was suspended 6 years ago was revived last month towards providing succour and relief to civil servants.

He commended the government for approving the resumption of the Contributory Pension Scheme which employers and employees contribute 10.5% and 7.5% respectively which he noted was in the best interest of the employers after retirement.
