Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has identified a break in communication as responsible for the three day warning strike embarked upon by doctors under the aegis of Medical Guild of the Lagos State government.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after Inaugurating a 36-chamber morgue donated by a private entity at the IDH, Yaba, Governor Sanwo-Olu said almost all the demands made by the Medical Guild have been met and members of the Guild are aware of this.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who revealed that he met with officials of the Guild to explain the delay in their hazard allowance, which is already been paid, announced that he had given approval for the employment of 760 Healthworkers out of which 400 are Doctors.
On the outstanding issue of accommodation, Governor Sanwo-Olu said officials of the Medical Guild are also aware of a contractual arrangement with an International company to build Doctors quarters at LASUTH and the IDH.
The Governor who advised the striking Doctors to return to work promising to resolve all the issues.
Members of the Medical Guild had embarked on a three day warning strike on Monday this week over issues bothering on their safety and welfare.
However, Doctors working in COVID-19 isolation facilities are exempted from the action which will end tomorrow.
