Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika says domestic air travellers are now expected to arrive airports 1hr 30minutes earlier to their flights to observe the COVID-19 safety protocols as against the three hours agreed on before the reopening of airports.
Aviation Minister in a message to travellers said the ministry and its agencies have reviewed passenger facilitation at the airports and have agreed the time should be reviewed.
“I am happy to announce that, henceforth travelers are to arrive one hour and a half before their departure time for domestic flights.”
He urged travelers to check in online, cooperate with airport officials in adhering to the safety protocols.
Since the resumption of domestic flights on the Lagos Abuja routes on the 8th of this month, four more airports, Kano, Owerri, Port Harcourt and Maiduguri have been opened for flights and the remaining 16 are expected to resume by Wednesday this week.
