Pharmacists kick against appointment of Disciplinary Tribunal Chairman

The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) has protested against the appointment of Mr. Ahmed Mora as the chairman of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.

The protest which was at the secretariat of the Federal Ministry of Health comes weeks after the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire inaugurated a pharmacist, Mr. Mora as the Chairman PCN.

In a statement by the Society’s National Secretary Mr. Emeka Duru, the PSN rejects the appointment as the candidate in question has been dishonored and stripped of the Fellowship of the PCN prior to his appointment.

According to the statement, he was suspended of his Membership since 2009, hence can not be appointed Chief Regulator of the same profession.

It states that Mr. Mora emerged Professor of Clinical Pharmacy 6 years after emerging from a full-time academic period from 2012 to 2017, indicating that Mr. Mora falsified some existing Pharmacy and Drug laws for personal interest.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria called on President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the matter and remove Mr. Ahmed Mora as Chairman of the PCN.
