Kwara State Technical Committee on COVID-19 says the State now has a COVID-19 testing centre which would be fully operational very soon.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye says with this centre, Kwara joins few states in the country with the capabilities to run tests for the virus and other infectious diseases.
Mr. Ajakaye who doubles as Secretary to the State Technical Committee said the major breakthrough has been made possible with the efforts of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who had pulled all the strings and made the necessary investments to actualise the dream.
He noted that the disparity in the figure of positive cases often arises due to late or delayed declaration on the part of the NCDC which understandably deals with results from several states.
He restated the government’s advice for everyone to take personal responsibility in the efforts to contain this virus, stating that COVID-19 is a present and clear danger.
