Fish farmers in Kwara state have raised alarm over COVID-19 induced low patronage.
The chairman of Fish Farmers in the state, Malam Sulyman Buhari raised the alarm while speaking with Journalists in Ilorin.
According to him, 90% of farmers find it difficult to sell their fishes because of the restriction on movements of vehicle into some states where most of these fishes are needed.
While thanking the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his efforts to expand fish markets in the state, Malam Buhari sought his intervention on the losses the farmers had suffered during the lockdown period.
He however implored the state government to also create an avenue through which their fishes can be taken to other states.
