Nigerian Army has distributed food items and other materials to over five hundred people in Faskari local government area of Katsina state.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, said the gesture was part of the Nigerian army efforts to support needy as in a bid to strengthen the civil military relations especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Represented by the General officer Commanding 3 Division Jos, Major General Nuhu Angbazon explained that, the Nigerian army has over the years been taking steps towards contributing its own quarter to the civilians.
The distribution of the Palliatives was part of the ongoing Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2020 taking place in “Faskari Super Camp IV” in Katsina State.
The COAS expressed determination to curtailing the security challenges in Northwest, urged the public to support military operations with credible information about Bandits and other criminals.
Lt. Gen. Buratai said the Nigerian army established the camp in Faskari to serve as a centre for its troops to deal decisively with the criminals in the North-West.
Items distributed includes bags of Rice, cooking oil, and milk among others food items as well as Thousands of Exercise Books for pupils of the area.
In his Remark, District Head of Faskari Alhaji Aminu Sa’idu commended Nigerian Army for the civilian-military relationship and professionalism in dealing with criminals aimed at ensuring peaceful co-existence in the zone.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed appreciation to the COAS for the support which they described as timely.
