Covid-19: Lagos seals facilities for flouting orders

The Lagos State Government has sealed some lounges, bars, spas and night clubs for flouting the order on closure of social clubs as part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr Lanre Mojola who led the Commission’s compliance and enforcement team to Lagos Island, Surulere and Abule -Egba and environs declared that Lagos State has zero-tolerance for breach of safety guidelines and protocols.

According to the Safety Commission DG, Mass gathering in social clubs, spas and night clubs negates safety guidelines on the rampaging virus.

Mr Mojola who stated that the Commission still issuing provisional safety compliance certificates to social clubs that have registered and have had their facilities verified stressed that facilities that have been registered verified and issued certificates are Not to open until stipulated guidelines and pronouncements to open is made by Mr Governor.

He urged the management of centres that are yet to comply with the register to open initiative to do so, adding that registration and verification is Free of charge.
