President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has expressed his grief over the death of former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
Senate President mourns former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who once represented Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate before he was elected to two consecutive terms as governor, would be missed by the people of Oyo State and the progressives political family throughout the country.
The Senate President said Oyo State would always remember him for his numerous achievements as the first governor to be reelected in the history of the politically sophisticated state.
Sen Lawan expressed his condolences to the family, friends and political associates of the departed former governor and prayed for Allah to comfort them.
Similarly, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila has described the demise of the immediate past governor of Oyo State and All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman, South, Abiola Ajimobi, as a painful loss.
Mr Gbajabiamila said Ajimobi was a peace-loving man that promoted same among his people and beyond, saying Oyo State and Nigeria have lost a patriotic leader.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, the Speaker said Ajimobi lived a fulfilled life and had served the people of Oyo State diligently and patriotically.
He prayed that God Almighty will grant him a peaceful resting place and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Also, members of the House of Representatives have described the death of the former governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi as a great loss not only to Oyo state but country at large.
In a statement signed by the chairman House Committee on Information National Orientation Ethics and Values, Mr Olusegun Odebunmi says they received the news of the demise of the great leader, Senator Abiola Ajimobi describing it as sad and a bitter pill to swallow.
According to him, the deceased was like a father, benefactor and a role model whose legacies will continue to live behind him .
He added that senator Ajimobi during his lifetime was a pathfinder and an architect of Oyo state who as a governor restored the lost glory of the state.
