Senegal’s President Macky Sall will self-isolate for two weeks after coming into contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19, the presidential office said on Thursday.
A presidential aide, Seydou Gueye, said that Sall had taken the COVID-19 test after being exposed. The results came back negative.
“However, following doctors recommendations, the president will isolate for two weeks, starting on Wednesday, June 24,” Gueye wrote on the office’s Twitter account.
Senegal’s Health Ministry’s had registered 6,129 COVID-19 cases, 93 deaths and 4,072 recoveries.
