APC chieftain urges court to strike out order making him acting secretary

The North East National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Mustapha Salihu has applied to the FCT High Court to strike out the order making him the Acting National Secretary of the party.

The FCT High Court sitting in Maitama presided over by Justice Samiru Bature had last week issued an order Mr Salihu should be allowed to carry out the functions of Acting National Secretary of the party.

Mustapha, who immediately rejected the order said he was aware that such plea was entered in March but the recent resolution of the zone endorsing the nomination of Mr Waziri Bulama for the office of the National Secretary which was forwarded to NEC for ratification had overtaken any other development.

He said the North-East APC believed in the competence of Mr Bulama and had appointed him into the position which was waiting for ratification by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

The party chieftain said though he was aware of the suit at the FCT High Court granting the Deputy National Secretary, Chief Victor Giadom an order to Act as APC National Chairman in March and the renewal on June 16, he did not intend to continue with the case.

He called on the leaders of the party to convene an NEC meeting where all the issues challenging the unity of the party would be resolved.
