The House of Representatives has urged the federal government to show the same seriousness attached to battling the COVID 19 pandemic, in combating insecurity in the country.
This was a sequel to a motion moved by a member from Katsina State, Alh Sada Soli, on the urgent need for relevant security agencies to bring to an end the spate of increase in insecurity across the country.
Leading the debate, Alh Sada Soli lamented that the insecurity situation in some parts of the country has degenerated while criminal activities have become a daily occurrence in many states.
The Lawmaker, observed that Northwest and North Central parts of the country may face food shortage as farmers are afraid of going to their farms.
A member from Oyo state, Mr Abass Adekunle, called for more manpower recruitment in the armed forces and security agencies.
The speaker Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, mandated the house security committees to ensure that all the contributions showcasing lapses in the relevant sections of the Acts regulating the security agencies are effectively amended for proactive implementation.
