The Nigerian Port Authority has donated desk top and lap top computers and other office stationaries to the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission.
Presenting the items in Abuja, the on behalf of the Managing Director, the General manager Abuja annex of the Nigerian Port Authority Mr.Edward Dauda Kabir said the gesture was in line with the organisations Corporate Social Responsibility .
He said the Nigerian Port Authority believed in synergy among governmental organisations to achieve their statutory mandate.
The Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa while receiving the items expressed appreciation to the Management of the Nigerian Port Authority led by Hadiza Bala Usman for the show of solidarity and comradeship.
She explained that the items would go along way in improving the performance of the Commission.
The NIDCOM chairman said the donation was timely as the the Commission was still battling for the release of its office equipment locked up in a building owned by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
She also expressed gratitude of the Commission to the first lady Hajiya Aisha Buhari for standing by the Commission in it’s trying moment.
Items donated included Twenty, (20) desktop computers, Ten, (10) laptop computers, two,(2) printers and accessories.
Meanwhile, the NIDCOM chairman also received a donation of hand sanitizers by the Nigerian Diaspora Movement, an organisation made up of youths living in the diaspora.
Presenting the hand sanitizers on behalf of the organisation, Mr Dauda Abdullahi said the youths body was of the belief that it would go along way in assisting NIDCOM in containing COVID-19 in its office.
