Navy inaugurates 40 bed Isolation Centre in Lagos

The Nigerian Navy has Inaugurated a 40 bed Isolation Centre at its Naval Dockyard Victoria Island to boost efforts at curbing the spread of the Coronavirus.

Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas, made this known while inaugurating the  Centre in Lagos. 

Vice Admiral Ibas, who was represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Oladele Daji, explained that the 40 bed isolation facility, was part of the Nigerian Navy’s contribution towards the fight against the dreaded disease in Lagos which had  remained the epicenter of the pandemic in the country.

The Chief of Naval Staff, pointed out that the gesture was a proactive decision, considering that the increased exposure to the virus required such centre and facilities for effective management.

The isolation centre, a state of the art facility, is equipped with modern medical equipment  required to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Other Senior officers, including members of Naval Officers Wives Association, were present at the event.
